Villa Santa Cruz is full of modern amenities but steeped in a rich and storied history. This hideaway is on Columbus Landing beach, named for the place where Columbus anchored his 17 ships on his second voyage in 1493. Columbus, who discovered the island, gave it its original name, Santa Cruz, which means Holy Cross in Spanish. Villa Santa Cruz is named in honor of the first visit by Columbus and the original name given at that time.
